.There will be the second IREC Meeting, 02/05, from 5-7 pm in Learned 1136. JHPR will talk about the competition, how you can be involved, and brainstorm ideas. IREC is the world's largest rocketry competition, hosted in Midland, Texas, with over 200 teams competing. The goal is to make a large-scale rocket to hit as close as possible to 10kft. This is no small task, and so we would like your help designing and building the rocket. This is a great opportunity to get technical experience in all areas of aerospace. In-house Composite design and layup Rocket Analysis and Design FEA and CFD Analysis Custom Avionics and Flight Computers In-house Ground Station Rocket payload and recovery Research into drag optimization (i.e. Air Brakes, Active Fin Control, etc.)
